Susie got in touch with me using my contact form on my website to check my availability on being their Heaton House Wedding Photographer for their special day. Having visited and fallen in love with the venue, it was important to them to secure the services of a wedding photographer who would match their vibe and I was fortunate enough to be chosen from their list. We exchanged a few emails along the way, but I feel the real connection was made when we met at Heaton House Farm for our pre-wedding meeting. I always make the effort to meet my couples where possible, walk around the venue and share ideas ahead of their date. This means that we never have to pause and think about a location or pose, potentially killing the energy of the moment.
Susie chose to have just her mum with her in the ‘hen house’ pamper room, which struck me as unusual but it actually turned out to be a great decision as Susie’s prep time was undertaken in a completely calm atmosphere, which allowed her to keep control of any nerves she had. It also gave me plenty of space to move around to create some candid images without her noticing. Monty by comparison spent pretty much the full day with the largest grin on his face. Together they were a joy to be around. The connection they had as a couple was as sweet as it was sincere. Good vibes washed across the whole day as they met at the top of the aisle, exchanged vows and rings, completed with their first kiss as man and wife.

With the ceremony complete, the couple made their way outside for the confetti walk and Monty treated Susie to quite the hollywood kiss half-way along! It was then over to the lawned rear garden for their formal pictures in front of the magnificent Sycamore tree, before making their way back inside for their wedding breakfast. With good food eaten and speeches spoken, it was soon time for the cake cut and first dance with music provided by a live band called ‘skylight’. All in all, a lovely day for a lovely couple, surrounded by lovely people.
