Danielle and Tom contacted me using Hitched to see if I was available to be their Alcumlow Wedding Barn Photographer. Once my availability was confirmed, we arranged a phone call to answer some further questions. Danielle strikes me as somebody who is very organised and I was booked within a week or so of their initial contact, despite their wedding date being some 18 months away. Regular emails followed with snippets of information and updates, which is lovely from my point of view as it really makes me feel a part of their planning and excitement ahead. We were to arrange a pre-wedding meeting at the venue but we had to reschedule due to the early arrival of her twin boys – congratulations!
Once things were a little more settled, we arranged our pre-wedding meeting at Alcumlow Wedding Barn and Danielle passed across the final details, also giving us free reign on taking some more creative pictures of them apart from the usual formals. Their day arrived and the weather was perfect with bright sunshine (although it was bloomin’ hot!). Danielle had a lovely group of bridesmaids to keep her company while she got ready and Rick looked after Tom’s prep before he arrived at the venue. The sunshine meant that their ceremony was held outside in their purpose-built chapel-like structure with suspended windows and flower filled window boxes. Alcumlow call it The White House.

Tears of emotion flowed from Danielle’s dad and also from Tom as soon as they set eyes on the bride. Their outdoor wedding was finished with a handfasting ceremony before the newlyweds were showered in confetti as they walked back up the aisle. It was straight onto the formals before their wedding breakfast inside the barn. With the food done we headed back outside to give the couple a short break from their guests and to capture those creative portraits we talked about. Then, back into the barn for the cake cut and picture-perfect first dance before they partied the night away.
